Newquay Towan Blystra Leos, the youth group of the Lions Club recently held a fantastic Family Fun Day, on the Killacourt in the centre of town, overlooking Newquay Bay.

There was a large number of stalls, games, and entertainment on offer, including Plympton Owls, Newquay Hospital League of Friends, Cancer Research UK, The British Heart Foundation and The Blue Reef Aquarium

One of the most popular attractions on the day was the chance to throw wet sponges, at a person of your choice. Newquay Mayor Sandy Carter was keen to offer his services, and was a good sport whilst being splatted with the soggy sponges.

The day raised almost £300, which will be donated to local charities and good causes.
