00_Blues Brothers_timeOne of Cornwall’s most talked-about tribute acts has announced a special “Reunion” gig, helping to raise cash for two worthwhile local causes.

The “Unofficial Blue Brothers” have reunited after years apart, and will be performing their comeback gig exclusively to raise funds for Newquay Towan Blystra Lions and The Newquay Coastguard Association.

Once upon a time, you couldn’t spend a Summer in Newquay without hearing of the band, who frequented some of the resort’s most popular pubs and clubs. Their act features many of the tracks featured and performed in the 1980 film featuring Dan Akroyd and John Belushi.

Being the closest you can get to the real Jake and Elwood, the band built up a committed fanbase who would follow them from venue to venue.

The event, which takes place on Friday 6th March 2015 at the Royal British Legion in Newquay will be raising funds for both local causes through Newquay Towan Blystra Lions, and The Newquay Coastguard Association.

The Unofficial Blues Brothers have offered their services completely for free, in order to help us raise the money – for this we are eternally grateful.

Tickets cost just £7.50, and include a pasty supper. They are limited, and can be bought from The Newquay Voice Newspaper Office at Trevena Terrace in Newquay.
