St. Newlyn East Christmas Lights Switch-on 2009

The village of St. Newlyn East had the presence of a very special guest of honour, to help celebrate the switch-on of their impressive Christmas lights on Thursday 3 December 2009.

Newquay Towan Blystra Lions had a word with Father Christmas himself, who turned out with his sleigh and presents in tow to bring the festive feeling across the whole town.

Hundreds of families turned out to first meet Santa at the School, before following him in a procession through the village, as the lights came on around them.

The procession was also greeted at a few points by a festive offering from St. Newlyn East Town Band, before finishing at the Pheasant Inn.
