Newquay Towan Blystra Lions recently teamed up with Newquay-based “KernowPhotoArt” to help encourage the importance of recycling with some of the town’s budding young artists. The club set a challenge to the children of Nuture Nursery on Eliot Gardens in Newquay to take the off-cuts from KernowPhotoArt’s framing and mounting workshops and produce a picture of an owl each. They were then judged by representatives of the Lions Club, who also put up the prize of a book token and a free Photography Session, courtesy of Newquay’s “Images Photography”. Matt Bunt from Newquay Towan Blystra Lions was amazed at the results. “Usually these off-cuts would end up in the bin, but of course in the current day we need to encourage as many people to recycle as possible. To see what the children had managed to achieve with just a little imagination really proved that there are some very talented potential artists here in Newquay, and most importantly spreading the word about recycling in Cornwall. “We are very thankful to all the businesses for their support, and of course to the children for putting their all into it!”Newquay Towan Blystra Lions encourage the “Recycle” message
